Motorists are being reminded to slow down and move over when they see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road.

State Police say they'll begin increasing patrols enforcing both speeding and the state's "Move Over Law."

The law went into effect in 2011 and requires drivers to reduce speed and move over to the next lane when encountering an emergency vehicle on the shoulder of a multiple lane highway.

Last year, Troopers issued 11,792 tickets for violations of the "Move Over Law."
