MIAMI (AP) — The first tropical storm of the Pacific hurricane season has weakened into a tropical depression and is expected to dissipate on Thursday.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami reports that Tropical Depression Adrian's maximum sustained winds early Thursday were 30 mph (45 kph).

Adrian was centered about 385 miles (620 kilometers) south-southeast of Salina Cruz, Mexico, and was moving northwest near 7 mph (11 kph).

Forecasters expect additional weakening later in the day.
