Tropical Storm Chantal Could Reach Florida By Week’s End

Tropical Storm Chantal 2013 is less than five hundred miles east-southeast of Barbados.  With sustained winds of about forty-five miles per hour forecasters are projecting it to reach Florida by week's end.

It is too soon to say if it will strengthen to hurricane force, but affected areas could see significant damage even if it remains a tropical storm.

Tropical storm warnings are in effect for:

• Barbados
• Dominica
• Guadeloupe
• Martinique
• Saint Lucia

A tropical storm watch is in effect for:

• Puerto Rico
• Saint Vincent
