ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say highway exit ramps at a busy interchange near the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany are closed after a tractor-trailer overturned, leaving the trailer handing over the edge of the road.

Albany police say the truck crashed Thursday afternoon on the Interstate 787 exit ramp to the Dunn Memorial Bridge linking Albany and Rensselaer.

Images on local media websites show the trailer hanging over the guardrail, with the trailer's load of trash spilled onto the ground below.

Police say the driver suffered minor injuries.

Firefighters and a towing company are attempting to pull the trailer upright.

The interchange is used by thousands of state employees who work in the nearby complex of office buildings.

Police are urging motorists to avoid the crash scene.
