President Donald Trump addressed the nation Monday morning on the Las Vegas strip massacre that claimed more than 50 lives Sunday night. 

The president called it an 'act of pure evil' and thanked members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and first responders for the 'miraculous' speed in which they located and stopped suspected gunman Stephen Paddock.

He also called for the country to come together as many mourn the loss of family and friends.

President Trump also said he'd visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday and that he and First Lady Melania Trump are praying for the families of the victims.
