Oneida, NY (WIBX) - The next time you visit, or book a room at the Turning Stone Casino Hotel, you will see the result of a 3-year, multi-million dollar construction project. The Hotel just completed its $5.5 million face lift, updating 268 guest rooms.

The Casino's Vice President of Hospitality, Karen Ramirez, says the best part is, project managers used local vendors to get the job done. "On this particular project we used Roma Tile & Marble of Syracuse, Jay-K Lumber of New Hartford, Adorino Construction of Utica, and Zausmer-Fitch in Syracuse were the ones that created the design with us," she said. She adds that it's all about being good neighbors.

Mitchell Keno with Jay-K Lumber Corporation said they provided items for all the three floors that underwent renovation. "Our products that we have provided include all the paint for all the walls, trims, ceiling. We've provided all the moldings for the crown area along the ceiling, around the doors and along the floors," he said. He says the company has a working relationship with the Oneida Indian Nation that goes back several generations and this 3-year project was one of many that they've undertaken at the resort.

Here's what Ramirez says visitors  can expect the next time they visit the Casino Hotel, "They can expect, I hope to be wow'd, especially the ones that have stayed in the hotel before. It's a complete transformation from what they were. The color scheme is different, the furniture, it's a completely different style, completely different look and much more modern and up to date."

Another good part about the project? ... The room rates did not increase.
