Two Arrested After MVCC Brawl

Utica, NY (WIBX)- Two people were arrested following a large fight at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Utica Police say the fight broke early Sunday morning in the cafeteria at MVCC at a Black Student Union Dance.

Police say it took about 50 minutes to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd of about 400 people.

19-year old Jama Mohamoud of Harrison, Pennsylvania and 20-year old Shamar Smith of Syracuse were both charges with disorderly conduct.

The UPD was assisted by Frankfort Police, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and MVCC campus security.
