Two Arrested for Allegedly Stealing from Five Below in New Hartford

A store manager tried to stop two women from allegedly stealing from the Five Below in New Hartford this week.

Police say 20-year old Natasha Cruz stole merchandise from the store at around 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.  The manager says he confronted Cruz and the two subsequently got into a fight.  They say 22-year old Ashley Garcia stepped in, possibly in an attempt to get the items back from the store manager before both Cruz and Garcia fled.

Both women were arrested and charged with robbery in the second degree. Both were arraigned.  Cruz was released pending a future court appearance.  Garcia was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $500.00 bail.
