Two children have died and two adults were severely burned in a fire that was reported at 1:58 a.m. October 19 at 145 Floral Avenue in Johnson City.  No identities have been released.  Johnson City and New York State Police are conducting an arson investigation into the fire.

According to Johnson City Fire Chief Rob Jacyna two children were trapped on the third floor of the dwelling.  Jacyna told WBNG TV News that firefighters had to put out the fire in the lower portion of the structure in order to get to the third level where they found the children. The children were taken to Wilson Hospital but did not survive.  Jacyna told WBNG that two adults escaped from the burning structure but suffered severe burns and were taken to a hospital in Syracuse.
