INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two men are injured after a robbery and shooting in the same parking lot near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where a man was killed this weekend.
Speedway Police Department Lt. Trent Theobald says multiple people approached two men after 2:00 am Sunday, May 25, 2014 in the Coke Lot, and one man was beaten and had his personal items stolen. Theobald said the suspects fled and the second man chased them, but was shot.
The shooting victim is in serious condition at an Indianapolis hospital. The robbery victim is in fair condition.
Theobald could not provide additional information about the suspects or victims.
A day earlier in the same lot, a 25-year-old Indiana man was shot and killed after an argument. Avory Johnson, 19, faces a preliminary charge of murder.
