Two Juveniles Charged With Starting Dollar Tree Store Fire

Two juveniles have been arrested for allegedly starting a fire at the Dollar Street Store in the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk Street in Utica.

Utica Police have charged the juveniles with arson.

They've been sent to a detention facility until they can be brought before an Oneida County Family Court Judge.

Police say they we able to locate the juveniles who fled on foot after they were followed by store employees.

The Dollar Tree sustained extensive damage and inventory loss in the Sunday afternoon fire, while other stores in the plaza also reported damage.

The investigation is ongoing.
