KINGSBURY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two people are dead after they apparently were hit by a train in northeastern New York.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office tells local media that two bodies were found early Monday morning along the railroad tracks near an overpass on Route 196 in the town of Kingsbury, 50 miles north of Albany.

Officials say they believe the victims may have been struck by a passing train. Their bodies have been removed from the scene for autopsies.

Police are investigating along with the Canadian Pacific Railway.
