Two Killed In Accident On The Thruway Near Verona
State Police continue to investigate a fatal four-car accident on the Thruway.
It happened Wednesday night between Exit 32 in Westmoreland and Exit 33 in Verona.
Police say 29-year old Travis Thurston of Canastota veered onto the right shoulder of the highway and struck a disabled vehicle and tow truck on the side of the road.
He then continued back into the lane of traffic and hit a third vehicle.
The driver of the disabled vehicle, 33-year old Carlton McRae of Newport News, Virginia was killed.
A rear seat passenger, 34-year old Mark Murray of Syracuse, also died, while a front seat passenger is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Thurston suffered minor injuries, while his passenger sustained serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
The tow truck driver was not injured.
