The United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area is partnering with the recently-established Mohawk Valley Anti Poverty Initiative.

The United Way will bring together a coalition of agencies and organizations to work to eliminate poverty in Oneida County and the Mohawk Valley.

The anti-poverty initiative was kicked-off in July by County Executive Anthony Picente and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi It will be modeled after a similar program in Rochester and Monroe County.

“United Way is proud to partner with Assemblyman Brindisi and Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente in the Mohawk Valley Anti-Poverty Initiative.  This fresh, innovative approach to lifting folks living in deep poverty and the working poor toward a brighter future is just what our region needs to move forward,” said Brenda Episcopo, CEO and Executive Director of United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.
