One of the most popular volunteer jobs in Central New York each summer is pouring beer for Saranac Thursday. Many companies will apply and only a few will be selected.

Saranac Thursday is one of the biggest fundraising efforts for the local United Way. They are the ones who look over the applications and choose those who have the honor to pour the local brew.

According to a release over 10,000 people have volunteered over the past 18 years. United Way also says they have received over $500,000 from the event since its inception. Most organizations and local businesses look at the opportunity to pour for those enjoying the music and local beer as a great opportunity to contribute to this CNY summer staple.

To apply, visit www.unitedwayvgu.org/volunteer, or email volunteer@unitedwayvgu.org. All applications must be submitted online by Thursday, April 13, 2017. For more information, please contact United Way Volunteer and Events Coordinator Keri Kane, by calling 315–733-4691, ext. 226, or email volunteer@unitedwayvgu.org.
