Officials with the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area spent the day visiting 11 companies and organizations involved in the 2014 workplace campaign.

It's all part of the United Way's Annual Day of Thanks, a way to say thank you to those who made a commitment to "Live United."

United Way officials visited ACR Health, Central New York Labor Council, Excellus BC/BS-Utica Region, M&T Bank, Met Life Group Claims Office, National Grid, The Nieghborhood Center, New Hartford Central School District, Sauquoit Valley Central School and the Village of Ilion.

They brought coffee and treats from the Utica Coffee Roasting Company with them to say "Thanks a Latte."

Executive Director Brenda Episcopo says back at the office, phone calls were made to hundreds of donors and e-mails and postcards were sent to the more than 6,000 volunteers and donors who took part in the 2014 United Way Campaign.
