It is too cold to walk to your car - colder yet if you find that your car is not where you left it.

Police are warning members of the public not to park in the "Labor Ready" parking lot on Oriskany Street in Utica.

During a Utica Comets game this past weekend thirteen drivers had their vehicles towed after they were found parked in the private lot located at 527 Oriskany Street West.

Utica Police say each towed vehicle costs the owners about $200 each.  The towing is being done at the request of the property owner, and not the UPD.  And those who have been towed tell us that it is a cash only payment.

The department is asking the public, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, to share the message and advise friends and family members not to park in the private lot during events at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
