UPD Called To Oneida St. For Lion Sighting

A possible lion sighting had Utica Police on alert this morning.

At around 11:15, officers were called to Oneida Street for a report of a lion sighted chasing deer. A search was performed in the area, but the suspected animal wasn't found.

The Utica Zoo was also contacted regarding the possibility of an escaped animal in the city, but after double checking their enclosures, the Zoo said all of their animals were present.

The purported lion was never found.
