Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's top cop feels the Utica Common Council doesn't completely trust how he's managing his department.

According to Chief Mark Williams, he's contacted the State's Division of Criminal Justice Services to request an independent audit of his department.

"Basically, I feel I need credibility with the Common Council", said Willaims, adding "I think I need that third opinion for two reasons, one, in may give me a more objective opinion on how to run my agency and secondly, I think it will back a lot of the things I've been saying to the common council".

Chief Willaims tells WIBX that representatives from the Division of Criminal Justice Services will be in Utica May 31st. The Audit is free of charge.
