UPD Investigating Possible Attempted Abduction

Utica Police are investigating a possible attempted abduction.

The incident involved a 15-year old girl who was walking in the area of Arthur Street and Conkling Avenue just after 7:30 this morning.

Police say a man in a dark silver Kia SUV drove past the girl and waved at her. They say after circling the block, he parked and exited the vehicle and then began to walk in the girl's direction.

The girl yelled and ran from the area.  The driver returned to his vehicle and left the area last seen headed north on Mohawk St.

Police say the man did not make any physical attempts towards the girl and no verbal communications were made

The driver is white, in his mid-30’s, with a moustache.
