UPD Issues Scam Alert For Phony Water Authority

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Police Department is asking residents to be aware that someone may be masquerading as an official from the Water Authoroty, displaying phony identification and taking the opportunity to rob those who let him inside.

The suspect is described as a white male with a mustache.  Anyone who has been approached by someone in this manner is being asked to call the Utica Police Department.

Residents are also cautioned to take steps to ensure that individuals requesting permission to come into their homes are legitimate representatives.
