UPD: July Figures Show 90-Percent Jump In Robberies

Utica, NY (WIBX) - July was a busy month for the Utica Police Department. Investigators are reporting a 90-percent increase in robberies, when compared to last year's figures for the same month.

UPD released a map showing the locations of the robberies, as a public safety message to Utica residents. They say several young adults and juveniles have been arrested in connection to the cases they've solved so far. According to UPD, there were a total of 19 robberies in July 2012. Last year, 10 robberies were reported in the same month.
