UPD: Level 2 Sex Offender Chased Woman With Knife
Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police are reporting the arrest of a registered level two sex offender over the weekend. Officials say, they were responding to a call about a man chasing a woman with a knife in the area of Genesee and Oswego Streets in Utica.
The victim told police that the suspect, 53-year-old Leonard Weather, grabbed her in front of the Olbiston Apartments, and put a pocket knife to her face. Weather was arrested and charged with the following:
- 2nd Degree Menacing
- 4th Degree Criminal possession of a Weapon
- 2nd Degree Harassment
Officials say Weather is awaiting further court proceedings in the city lockup and will answer the charges at a later date in Utica City Court.
