Utica, NY (WIBX) - Four people were arrested for allegedly attacking a Utica police officer who was trying to disperse a crowd after responding for a fight near Arthur Street and Seymour Avenue.

Police say officers Charles Goldstein and Paul Paladino arrived at the scene at around 8:30 Sunday night.

A witness told officer Goldstein that a man was threatening people with a knife, and took the suspect into custody. At the same time, as officer Paladino was attempting to disperse the crowd, James Pech, Ratana Pech, Sileng Yin and Sarin Chann began pushing, punching and kicking Paladino, police said.

All four were charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, riot and harassment.

Police have not released the name of the man arrested for allegeldy threatening people with a knife.
