UPD Officer Punched at Large House Party Fight
Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica Police had their hands full early Sunday morning while responding to a large house party on Catherine Street. According to Utica Police, about 100 people were at the residence when multiple fights broke out.
A UPD supervisor called in every available unit, including outside agencies to help take control of the situation.
According to authorities, during the fracas a Utica Police officer was punched in the head from behind by 24-year old Reginald Spratt. When the dust settled, 5 people were arrested at the scene, with another 2 arrested later at the Utica Police Station after fighting with officers.
Arrested were:
- Anthony Porter (age 48, of Jefferson Avenue, Utica), who was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree,
- Monique Jenkins (age 38, of Wetmore Street, Utica), who was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree and resisting arrest.
- Tiarra Walker (age 19, of Elizabeth Street, Utica) who as charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and harassment in the 2nd degree.
- Reginald Spratt (age 24, of Howard Avenue, Utica), who was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and harassment in the 2nd degree.
- Dequan Spratt (age 21, of Wetmore Street, Utica) who was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and harassment in the 2nd degree.
- Imari Cubbage (age 18, of Lenox Avenue, Utica) charged with resisting arrest and harassment in the 2nd degree.
- Zach Orengo (age 23, of Elizabeth Street, Utica) charged with obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, resisting arrest, and harassment in the 2nd degree.
