A peaceful surrender after Utica Police say a man threatened them with two knives, all while yelling to be shot.

Utica Police responded to a call for a domestic dispute on Roberts Street Saturday evening. Police say while conducting their investigation, 32-year-old McKensley Sanders - the alleged offender in the domestic incident - emerged from a basement staircase and threatened officers, armed with a knife in each hand.

Cops say he was yelling at the officers to shoot him.

After running into the home's basement, it took officers about 20 minutes to talk the man into dropping his weapons and surrendering peaceful, Utica police said.

He's charged with three felony counts of menacing a police officer, and criminal mischief.
