Utica, NY (WIBX) - "Catch me if you can, I'm in Brooklyn" -- That's the challenge a fugitive issued to Utica Police on Facebook before he was apprehended by US Marshals and turned over to investigators. Officials say 29-year-old Ruben Burgos was wanted on numerous arrest warrants for alleged domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend who lives in Utica.

According to the report, Burgos threatened to kill his then-girlfriend before fleeing to the Big Apple and taunting police. Officials say at the time of the threats, there was an active order of protection against the suspect. Burgos was transported back to Oneida County to face the following charges.

  • Three (3) counts of Criminal contempt in the first degree (all class E felonies)
  • Two counts of Aggravated harassment in the second degree (class A misdemeanors)
