Utica, NY (WIBX) - A teen was taken to jail after allegedly threatening his mother with a 12 gauge shot gun over the weekend. According to Utica police officials, 16-year-old Christopher Jones of Thieme Place in Utica is facing the following charges after turning violent toward his mother:

  • Menacing in the second degree (class A misdemeanor)
  • Criminal mischief in the fourth degree (class A misdemeanor)
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree (class A misdemeanor).

Officials say the teen was taking out his frustration on his mother after an argument with his girlfriend that happened the day before his violent outburst. In addition to threatening his mother with a weapon, the report says Jones also destroyed several household items. The young suspect will answer the charges at a later date in Utica City Court.
