Utica, NY (WIBX) - Assault with a cooking wok ... that's how Utica Police are describing an incident this morning that earned a Utica man a ticket to the city lock-up. According to law enforcement officials, 24-year-old Kurtis Cambra was arrested after he allegedly attacked his step-father with a wok.

The incident, officials say, stems from an argument between the suspect and the victim that escalated to Cambra striking the victim in the head with the cooking wok. Police say the victim sustained a laceration from the assault and was treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Cambra of Miller Street is facing the following charges:

  • Assault in the second degree (class D felony)
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree (class A misdemeanor).
