The engines on the South Korean Boeing 777 that crashed into San Francisco International Airport this weekend were both working properly.

According to The Washington Post, the pilot of the jumbo jet was a veteran pilot, but was unfamiliar with both the 777 and landing at San Francisco Airport.

The plane's autopilot was also not active and airspeed was reported to be more than 30 m.p.h. slower than is necessary for a landing approach.

The crash killed two Chinese students and sent at least 180 people to the hospital with minor injuries.
