NEW LISBON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 59-year-old man is in a New York jail after he killed a person and injured another during a fight inside his rural upstate home.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office says Perry Webb called 911 dispatchers Friday night, prompting deputies and state police to respond to his home in the town of New Lisbon, 70 miles (112 kilometers) west of Albany.

Officials say 63-year-old Arthur Bellinger, of New Lisbon, was found dead inside the house while a second man was injured. He was treated at the hospital in nearby Cooperstown for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the fight didn't involve firearms but they haven't said how Bellinger was killed and other man injured.

Webb was charged with murder and assault. He's being held in the county jail. A public defender will be assigned to his case.
