HARRISVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -€” A recent high school graduate from upstate New York is suing her former school district in connection with claims that she was falsely accused and illegally strip-searched last year.

The graduate, identified only as "Jane Doe," filed a lawsuit against rural Harrisville Central School District and several officials earlier this month in Syracuse federal court.

According to the lawsuit, Harrisville High School administrators told the woman that they received a tip she was in possession of drugs in December 2015.

The woman was asked to change in front of the school nurse after denying the accusations. When that search turned up empty, the lawsuit claims the woman was forced to endure a full cavity search.

Harrisville Central officials haven't responded to the allegations yet.

Harrisville is in northern Lewis County, 85 miles northeast of Syracuse.
