Carli Llyod found the back of the net, punching home a rebound off the post to give the US women's soccer team the only goal it would need to defeat France as group play continued at the Olympics.

Saturday's 1-0 win moved the US team to 2-0-0 in round-robin group action. The win secures a trip to the elimination round, although the will still play one more contest in group action. The US will play Columbia on Tuesday evening.

Llyod's score in the 63rd minute was her eighth career Olympic goal and moved the US to 16-0-1 - including 15 shutouts, in the 2016 Olympics.
