LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) — USA Luge is getting ready for its annual talent search.

The next round of the so-called Luge Challenge is set to begin this weekend at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area in Princeton, Massachusetts.

Adults and children 10 and older will be able to take timed practice runs aboard easy-to-maneuver plastic sleds down a track after learning the basics of the sport from USA Luge athletes and coaches. No experience is required.

Those who show promise could be invited to screening camps in Lake Placid, New York, or Park City, Utah. That's how current women's team member Summer Britcher got her start in 2007.

Other Luge Challenge sites this year are at Blue Mountain in Ski Area in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, the weekend of Jan. 27-28, and New York's Belleayre Mountain Feb. 3-4.
