Utica City Hall is announcing a new Government Access Channel that Mayor Plamieri and Councilman Joe Marino are calling a new era in Government transparency for the City.

Beginning next week on Time Warner Cable channel 98, residents will be able to tune in to see everything from common council meetings to properties for sale by the Urban Renewal Agency.

The access channel was created when the Time Warner Franchise Agreement Contract was renegotiated this past spring.

The new channel, called Utica Government Access is fully funded by Time Warner Cable with no cost to taxpayers, and Marino says all of the necessary equipment was also purchased in Utica.

The channel 98 logo was also designed locally, by MVCC Associate Professor Scott D. Selden.
