Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Brewers are back in action and ready to win another championship.

Yesterday, the players and their coach were at the Chuck E Cheese in New Hartford to sign autographs and meet with their fans before the first game of the season.

Tyler Bowditch has been slated to start opening day. He says he's honored to have the opportunity.

"It feels great," Bowditch said. "I just want to go out there and pound the zone and hopefully get some outs."

Outfielder, Eros Modena, feels the same way. He's says the team is looking to build on its recent success.

"I mean, I'm just trying to get better and I want one of those rings that they got last year, they're really nice," Modena said. "I think we have a great group of guys and I think we can win a lot of games."

The team takes the field this Saturday evening at 7 p.m. against the Syracuse Salt Cats. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a free Brewers magnet schedule.
