Utica College Softball Loses NCAA Round But Has Best Year In Its History
Utica College loses its NCAA Tournament bid as Western Connecticut State beat the Pioneers 4-0.
In a statement Head Coach Pat Mineo said, "This season has been the most rewarding season of my coaching career...We were a team that was underestimated...I've never been more proud of a group of girls in my entire life."
The Pioneers had 34 victories, breaking 17 different team records. In nearly every category numbers were up. With a total of forty-eight games played the team had an overall batting average of .355, with the most hits (482) and runs (322) scored.
