Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica College baseball team will take on Hamilton College tomorrow in the 25th annual Jackie Robinson Game, sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Frontiersmen.

The Pioneers come into the game with a 3-18-1 record, while the Continentals are 4-18, after splitting a double header with Cazenovia College on Monday.

During batting practice, both teams will wear t-shirts with the number 42 on the back, commemorating Robinson, the first black baseball player in the major leagues in 1947 for the L.A. Dodgers.

Also, former Tuskegee Airman, Herb Thorpe, will throw out the first pitch. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first black military aviators for the United States armed forces. Thorpe is also a past president and the current treasurer for the Frontiersmen.

UC currently holds a 13-11 edge in the annual contest, but were shut out last year, 4-0.

The game starts on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Utica College.
