Professional hockey is back in Utica beginning tomorrow night.

The Utica Comets will host their home opener against the Albany Devils at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

"Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe will personally drop the puck at 7 p.m.

The game is sold out but fans can still watch the game on a big screen at a viewing party outside the Aud beginning at 4 p.m..

Comets Communications Director Mark Caswell says this event has been a long time coming for area hockey fans. He added that the Comets are top 5 in the AHL in season ticket sales and that's because of the atmosphere Mohawk Valley hockey fans help create.

The Comets are looking to get their first win of the season in front of the home crowd, they are currently 0-3.
