The Utica Comets have signed a new goaltender for the upcoming season.

Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher says the team has inked Clay Witt to an American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

The 23-year old Witt spent the 2014-15 season with Northeastern University, where he posted an 11-10-2 record with a 2.83 goals against average and .904 save percentage.

During the 2013-14 campaign, Witt was a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award, given to college hockey's best player.
