Utica Common Council Passes 2017-18 Budget
The Utica Common Council has approved a budget for 2017-18.
The Council passed the $69 million dollar spending plan last night.
Councilman Joe Marino says they were able to make some amendments to the proposed budget. He says the council increased spending for equipment for the Utica Police Department and for repairs to some fire houses.
Marino says the budget also includes $5 million to pave city streets.
The budget carries no property tax increase or layoffs.
It's the second time in three years Utica residents will see no property tax increase.
