Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Common Council is gearing up for Tuesday night's big meeting, last night the body adopted several budget reductions that they believe will save taxpayers roughly $200,000.
That equates to a 1% cut in the proposed double-digit tax rate hike of nearly 20%, put forth by Mayor Rob Palmieri.

Finance Committee Chair Ed Bucciero says the council has trimmed nearly 2 percentage points and the goal is to get the tax rate hike down to a single digit.
