Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Common Council has authorized an additional $600,000 to complete the roundabout at Oneida Square.

That project, which began major construction in early August, has hit some bumps in the road along the way. Unanticipated expenses, such as the discovery of artifacts at the work site and replacement of additional aged infrastructure are to blame for the higher price tag.

Mayor David Roefaro, who personally lobbied for the Federal funds to begin this project, believes it's money well spent.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
