The City of Utica is extending its amnesty period of late fees for outstanding parking tickets by a week.

The city will grant amnesty on late fees and accept the original fines for tickets issue since January 1st of 2009 through March 23rd.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says the city will actively step up the booting process of cars with overdue fines once the amnesty program ends.

Vehicles that have three unpaid parking tickets in an 18-month period are eligible to be booted.

A boot tickets carries a fine of $150 and cannot be reduced.

All payments must be made in person at City Hall or mailed to the parking ticket office.
