Utica's new Peregrine Falcon chicks now have names.

Over 300 submissions were received in a naming contest sponsored by the Utica Peregrine Falcon Project,, but the judges say two names stood out.

The first hatched chick, which is a female, will be named "Grace" after Grace Church in downtown Utica.  The second chick, a male, will be named "Cade" in honor of Cornell professor Tom Cade

Cade founded the Peregrine Fund -- a project that played a major role in restoring the Peregrine Falcon population in the eastern U.S.

The names of both contest winners haven't been released yet.

Prizes will be awarded on June 11th during the UPFP's Fledgling Watch near the Adirondack Bank Building in downtown Utica.
