The Utica Fire Department is asking residents to please consider shoveling out one of the City's 2,000 fire hydrants.

A perimiter of 3 feet, along with a path to the street is necessary in order to keep hydrants accessable to firefighters in the event of an emergency.

The request comes days after the massive Winter Storm Reilly dumped over a foot of snow across the region.

It is essential during a fire or other emergency that fire crews have access to the water source.
