The Utica Food Pantry handed out free turkey dinners to families in need on Tuesday.

The giveaway took place at the Utica Central Fire Station on Bleecker Street.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was there to help hand out turkeys and all the fixings.  Also on hand were Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi and Utica Fire Chief Russ Brooks.

Utica Councilman Joe Marino and the East Utica Hannaford teamed up to donate 50 frozen turkeys to support the giveaway.

The Utica Food Pantry has set a goal to give away 300 to 500 frozen turkeys.
