The City of Utica is getting ready for tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Mayor Robert Palmeiri was joined this morning by parade Grand Marshal Chris McGrath for the painting of the green line on Genesee Street.

McGrath says he looks forward to the parade every year and being Grand Marshal is just about the best part of it.

The parade steps off at Saturday morning at 10:00 from the roundabout at Oneida Square and heads down Genesee to Columbia Street.

If you plan on heading to Varick Street after the parade, there are some items that you won't be allowed to have.

Utica Police say backpacks, bottles and aluminum cans are prohibited.
