Utica Man Accused Of Stabbing His Girlfriend

A Utica man is facing charges for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend at a home on Nichols Street.

Utica Police say officers found a woman who suffered a large cut to her thigh at around 8:30 Sunday night.

45-year old Carnell Steward was taken into custody around 12:30 Monday morning at the Oneida Square Market.

Police say Steward was in possession of the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing.  He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
