A Utica man is facing numerous charges after leading Utica Police on a high-speed chase.

An officer tried to pull over 23-year old Jamar Sessome on James Street, but Sessome saw the officer and allegedly began driving at a speed of over 85 miles an hour on Pleasant Street.

Police called off the pursuit due to the reckless actions of Sessome.  They say at the intersection of Pleasant and Genesee Streets, Sessome drove through a steady red traffic signal, attempted to drive between two other vehicles and sideswiped them

Sessome eventually exited the vehicle and ran into a home on the 1600 block of York Street.

Police set up a perimeter around the home and he was taken into custody

Sessome had numerous outstanding warrants, including criminal sale of a controlled substance.  He's also facing charges including reckless driving, unlawful fleeing a police officer, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
